The Little Welly ‘Goes Wild’ is an outdoor event for children and their families. It all began with our Henley event in 2014 and we are now proud to run the UK’s biggest obstacle courses for children. In 2023 we are returning to Henley.

At the heart of the event is an obstacle course with more than 30 challenges over a 3 km route including the foam run, climbing walls, mud and water.

But this is not just an obstacle course; the festival part of the event is all about getting children outdoors, active and taking on new challenges and experiences. They can bounce on the trampolines, try the caving challenge, scale the climbing wall, enjoy a pony ride and so much more. With all the energy being expended, there are plenty of options to refuel with tasty food and drink stalls. There’s also live music on the stage all day plus 2023 brings new entertainers.

Please note additional charges apply for the activities.

Henley Greenlands, Marlow Road, Henley-On-Thames, RG9 3AU.

The obstacle course and the other activities are suitable for active children aged between four and twelve, but older siblings are very welcome to join in. We recommend that adults accompany those aged under eight. Please note that our insurance conditions do not allow children under four years old to participate in the main course.

We do not usually accept new bookings on the day as The Little Welly ‘Goes Wild’ is a closed event with a controlled number of visitors to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment. You can however add or change your tickets as part of an existing booking on the day if required.

There will be plenty of parking spaces at all the events and the cost is £5 per car.

Under 4’s are very welcome and there is a special ticket for them. We have a special inflatable zone for them to enjoy plus the music and performers on the stage and of course all of the great acts in the Show Tent.

We recommend that not more than one parent or carer accompany each child as there are narrow sections to negotiate and for safety reasons we endeavour to avoid bottlenecks. Some of the obstacles are visible from the Village area and so there is an opportunity for non-participants to spectate from there.

The obstacle course tickets (children and adults) are for a circuit of the obstacle course and a finisher’s medal (for the children) plus entrance to the Festival Village. The Festival Only tickets covers entrance to the Festival Village where you can stay and be entertained all day. Please note that the advertised prices include VAT and that processing fees are displayed and added during the ticket selection process.

Pony rides, trampolines, caving, and the other activities are booked and paid for on arrival, there will also be some new mouth-watering food and drink options on sale in the village area.

Please note that car parking charges will apply on the event day.

It varies depending on the age and ability of the child, but we suggest allowing an hour from your start time to enable all to get round, clean up and have a break before booking any other activities.

Gates open at 9:30am and the activities start at 10am, please arrive for anything booked ten minutes early.

Given the active nature of this event, we suggest comfortable clothes and shoes with grip such as trainers. Please also consider bringing spare clothes as your child will get wet and muddy, and be mindful of the weather conditions on the day. Don’t forget your camera and some extra cash for the other activities in the Village.

You are more than welcome to bring food for babies and toddlers as well as for anyone with special dietary requirements. Otherwise, we hope that you will enjoy tucking into the food and drink options available at the event. No glass please.

Pets will have to stay at home, our sites have nesting animals in the woodland areas that we need to protect.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, except when they are on the obstacle course when parents may decide to wait for their children at the finish rather than follow them round the course. We recommend that children under the age of eight are accompanied around the course by a ticket-holding and able-bodied adult, please note that adults are not permitted to go over the obstacles.

Parents and carers are responsible for their children on site.

To comply with insurance conditions and the relevant health and safety rules, unfortunately children with physical disabilities are not permitted to participate in the obstacle course.

If you require any further information please contact us.

There are disabled access toilets at the event and we have an allocated parking area close to the entrance for blue badge holders.

St. Clere Estate

There are no known public transport options.

There is a regular bus service between Henley and Marlow that will get you to the event site. Please check the Arriva website—high-wycombe-to-reading/?direction=outbound for timetables.

The disabled toilets offer space for baby changing.

Bring your camera as there’ll be plenty of opportunities for photos. You are welcome to use your own recording equipment but strictly for non-commercial purposes. Please be mindful of other people’s privacy particularly when posting on social media.

We will also have a professional photographer and videographer on site so that we can collect plenty of memories throughout the weekend. For this reason you need to be aware that as a ticket holder you give consent for us to use these images for production, exhibition, advertising, video and/or audio recording purposes. If for any reason you decide that you are not happy with an image that is later used on our website or other media then please let us know.

The main area of the event is accessible to prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs but please consider the ground conditions (we are in a field) and the weather on the day. With uneven ground and narrow pathways the obstacle course is not suitable for anything with wheels.

For any children who wander off we have a carefully planned lost child operation to return them to their parents or carers as quickly as possible. If you can’t find your child please inform a member of the team immediately. The meeting point will be at the First Aid tent in the centre of the Village which will be staffed throughout the day.

Our events are on grass and some go into woodlands and through natural water sources so the normal allergy advice applies. Our foam is created with the active ingredient fatty amidoalkyl betaine (bactericidal washing up liquid).

Everyone who participates is required to accept the waiver terms and conditions as part of the online booking process.

The Private Group Pod is an optional extra for groups:

1. a base to meet and gather with some cover from the sun or rain

2. access to separate toilets

3. the bonus of starting the course whenever they are ready

4. a quiet space away from the main Festival Village

Course or entry tickets are still required so please select a start time close to when you expect to begin.

Pods provide cover for approximately ten people with additional space on the adjacent grass.
